Gateway Survey & Planning has recently been acquired by ESO Surveyors, a leading name in the Australian surveying industry with over 34 years of experience and over 140 staff across all the States and looking to expand.
Our team of Land Surveyors, Town Planners and Development Consultants have established a reputation for expertise in many areas including subdivisions and infill development. We lodge a large proportion of the (infill) subdivision applications and the highest number of plan sealing applications in Brisbane City Council as such are seeking a well spoken, organized planner with experience in lodging and managing DA's with a good understanding of the post approval process leading up to the lodgement of plan sealing.
About the position
We are currently seeking an experienced Town Planner with at least 2 years SEQ experience to be part of our team. This role will be based in Wynnum and will entail a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to:
* Preliminary research into the development potential of a site,
* Providing guidance and advice to clients to achieve desired development outcomes,
* Preparation and management of Development Applications across all Queensland Councils,
* Undertaking compliance assessment of development approvals and lodging "Plan Sealing" applications,
* Assisting clients in undertaking post approval applications, including change approvals and negotiated conditions,
* Preparation of fee proposals and management of billing,
* Management of other consultants such as surveyors, engineers, building certifiers and contractor etc,
* Participation in property networking groups to promote our services and establish industry relationships,
* Occasional administrative jobs where necessary, including answering phone calls.
Skills and Experience
Applicants will ideally have:
* A tertiary qualification in Town Planning or a similar degree,
* A minimum of 1 year experience in town planning SEQ,
* Experience preparing and managing Development Applications, particularly in South East Queensland,
* A good understanding of the Planning Act 2016, Development Assessment Rules, Planning Regulation 2017, State Development Assessment Provisions, State Planning Policies and various local planning schemes,
* The ability to work in a multi-discipline industry with an understanding of the role of external consultants,
* A class C open driver's licence,
* Clear and concise written and verbal communications skills,
* Experience in report writing and proficiency in office programs,
* Experience with CAD software will be valued,
* A friendly attitude and the ability to work in a team of planning professionals.
You must be self-motivated, proactive and flexible in your approach to work, possess good analytical skills and have the ability to apply lateral thinking to solve problems as part of a team of likeminded professionals. Town planning involves managing several projects at differing milestones as such we require a well spoken, organized person, who is good at administrative tasks and managing projects and people.
