The Salvation Army (Salvos) delivers a broad range of services supporting women and women with children who are impacted by family and domestic violence. Our programs include accommodation, crisis intervention, behavioural programs, and specialist advice for those at risk of, experiencing, or escaping family violence.

Our work is grounded in prevention, restoration, and healing, providing specialised support to address immediate safety concerns while offering advice, referrals, and connections that support long-term recovery.

About The Role
As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, primarily based within the outreach team, you will deliver compassionate, trauma-informed case management to women and children who are currently experiencing, or have experienced, family violence. Your responsibilities will include intake, assessment, crisis response, and ongoing case support.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, safe, and effective responses that prioritise safety, recovery, and empowerment. This role upholds the dignity, rights, and self-determination of service users through a feminist, client-centred framework.

How You Will Make An Impact

* Build respectful, trusting relationships that promote self-determination and active participation, aligned with the National Family Violence Model of Care.
* Provide case management in accordance with The Salvation Army's models, policies, and standards of practice.
* Undertake comprehensive and ongoing assessments from intake through to case closure.
* Collaboratively develop individualised case plans that reflect client goals and needs through tailored interventions.
* Empower clients to take an active leadership role in implementing their case plans.
* Support access to holistic services and community resources, advocating for clients where required.
* Regularly review and evaluate case plans, making adjustments to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness.
* Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant client records using TSA information management systems.

What You Will Bring

* A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Welfare (Social Sciences), Community Development, or a related field (essential).
* Demonstrated experience in case management within family violence or related sectors.
* Strong understanding of family violence dynamics and child wellbeing (highly desirable).
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
* A current Queensland driver's licence.
* A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
