The Role
Due to continued growth in our construction practice, we are seeking an experienced lawyer (5+ years PAE) to join their high‐performing team. You will be working directly with a partner who has expertise in complex construction litigation and ADR.
Focusing on mainly back‐end work, with some front end work, key responsibilities include:
* Advising on complex building defect claims and Home Owners Warranty insurance.
* Navigating the Design & Building Practitioners Act (DBP Act) and Residential Apartment Buildings (RAB) Act.
* Representing clients in the Supreme Court, District Court, and NCAT.
* Drafting and negotiating construction contracts, consultancy agreements, and special by‐laws.
* Providing expert advice on Security of Payment (SOPA) claims and responses.
About You
You are an ambitious Senior Lawyer who thrives on technical challenges and client interaction. You likely have:
* 5+ years PQE with a strong background in litigation with some of that experience in building and construction law.
* Excellent drafting skills and the ability to provide pragmatic, commercial advice.
* A collaborative mindset and an interest in mentoring junior staff.
