Every Patient Matters.Job DescriptionWe currently have an opportunity for a Grade 2 Speech Pathologist available at Epworth Geelong, based in Waurn Ponds.
This is a 12 month fixed term part time role (0.9)We are also open to casual speech pathologist applications - please specify in your cover letter which role you are applying for.This role offers the opportunity to assess, manage and provide client-centred intervention to Epworth patients experiencing swallowing and communication impairments in a hospital setting.You will make an impact with your:Ability to assess and evaluate patients in relation to communication and swallowing abilities and upon diagnosis determine appropriate treatment.Strong knowledge within the assessment and management of swallowing and communication disorders and how these can have a direct impact on a patient's overall health and quality of life.Ability to provide evidence-based, patient-centred care.Ability to work collaboratively and confidently within the multidisciplinary team.Strong time-management, problem solving and prioritisation skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.To be successful in the role, you will have:Hold a Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent degree.Be eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).Demonstrate relevant hospital experience - preferred.Present with experience in tracheostomy management - preferred.Be experienced in administering and interpreting Videofluoroscopy Assessments.About Epworth GeelongEpworth Geelong, located adjacent to Deakin University's Medical School in Waurn Ponds, is developing an environment of world-class health care and education to meet the needs of the expanding population of Geelong and South West Victoria.
