Support Worker - Residential Care
About the Role
We are seeking Support Workers to join our team in a residential care setting. As a Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
* Personal Care: Assist residents with daily personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Mobility Support: Help residents with mobility, including transferring them from bed to chair, assisting with walking, and using mobility aids safely.
* Feeding Assistance: Support residents with feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration, and assisting with special dietary needs.
* Medication Reminders: Assist with medication reminders and support residents in taking prescribed medications under the guidance of a nurse.
* Companionship: Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a caring and comfortable environment for residents.
* Housekeeping: Assist with maintaining a clean and safe living environment by helping with light housekeeping tasks, including making beds and cleaning rooms.
* Activities: Assist with organizing and engaging in activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.
* Care Planning: Follow care plans as outlined by registered nurses and healthcare professionals, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
* Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and respect for residents' privacy, dignity, and personal preferences.
Requirements
* Certification: A minimum Cert III / Cert IV in Aged Care or Individual Support.
* Skills: Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
* Approach: A compassionate, flexible and positive approach.
* Relationships: The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
