**About the role**
The WHS Specialist will provide advice and support to managers and employees on all WHS related issues, as well as being a key resource in coordinating current WHS initiatives whilst assisting with a review and update of the WHS Management system.
CatholicCare provides services in the social care sector, with a current focus on Psychosocial Safety, as well as strengthening initiatives around WHS risk and performance.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Act as the point of contact for all WHS matters and assist with advice for staff and managers.
- Ensure compliance with incident management, reporting, escalation requirements and corrective action monitoring.
- Partnering with Managers to assist with risk identification and management, including WHS workplace inspections and risk assessments.
- Support the WHS Committees to connect and engage staff in terms of consultation.
- Update WHS documentation in line with audit outcomes, legislative requirements and best practice.
- Participate and support in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with the WHS Management Plan and relevant legislation.
- Support the implementation of the Psychological Risk Framework, including CatholicCare's vicarious trauma program.
**Skills & experience**
- Tertiary Qualifications in a Safety related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in WHS related role
- Experience in Social and Community sector.
- Knowledge of WHS and Workers Comp legislation.
- Proven ability to work alongside key stakeholders to understand and implement WHS policy and procedures.
- Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office Applications.
- A current NSW driver's licence and access to an insured vehicle
- Workcover Return to Work Co-ordinator Certificate (or willingness to undertake)
