Legal Aid NSW delivers accessible legal services across criminal, family and civil law. We provide advice, court representation, and family dispute resolution through 28 offices and phone-based support, helping people navigate the legal system with confidence and fairness.



About the role



The Civil Law Division at Port Macquarie has an ongoing opportunity for dynamic and passionate Solicitor I-III to join.

As a Solicitor I-III, you will play a pivotal role in delivering essential legal services to a diverse clientele, helping them overcome disadvantage and achieve justice.

In this role, you will provide high-quality advice, minor assistance, and casework across various civil law areas. You will be at the forefront of advocating for clients, navigating complex legal issues, and making a tangible difference in their lives.

About you

If you are passionate about civil law and committed to access to justice, this is a rewarding opportunity to join Legal Aid NSW in the coastal community of Port Macquarie.

You will provide high‑quality advice, minor assistance and casework across a range of civil law areas, working with clients facing complex legal and personal challenges. Using a trauma informed, client centred approach, you will help clients understand their rights and achieve practical outcomes.

You are a motivated and adaptable solicitor with experience in general civil law and strong communication skills, able to build respectful relationships with clients, colleagues and community stakeholders. You work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

The essential requirements for this role



You must:



* be admitted or be eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW

* be able to provide a current NSW Practising Certificate before you start work with us

* be willing to do a Criminal Record Check

* hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)

* A current and unrestricted NSW Driver Licence
