Position Overview
Manual Machinists work with heavy manual machinery from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal. They adjust machine settings to control speed, material feed, and cutting path, ensuring machines are set up properly, well‐maintained, and operating at full capacity. Machinists use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and depth micrometers to inspect parts, ensuring products meet production guidelines. They report quality‐control issues, suggest adjustments to materials and machines, and maintain a clean workspace.
Specific Duties
* Figure machine set‐up positions using edge finders and mathematical equations.
* Set tooling and load materials into machines.
* Deburr parts using deburring tools and equipment.
* Operate drill press, manual milling machines, manual lathes, and manual surface grinders.
Qualifications Summary
Manual Machinists typically acquire skills through vocational schools, technical colleges, community college programs, or apprenticeships, with 4–5 years of education and on‐the‐job training needed to become fully trained. Strong aptitude for math, problem‐solving, and computer skills is essential.

Pay Range: $22.00 – $30.00 per hour
Bonus Eligible: This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
