Job Description
Sport and recreation are at the heart of many local communities. In this role, you'll help ensure residents, clubs and community groups can access well‐run sporting spaces and recreation facilities that support participation and connection.
Working within the Active Communities team, you'll play an important role in supporting how Council's sportsgrounds, pavilions and recreation spaces are used. From working with local sporting clubs to supporting community initiatives that encourage active lifestyles, your work will contribute to vibrant, well‐utilised community spaces across the municipality.
This role suits someone who enjoys working with people, coordinating operational activities and contributing to services that support community wellbeing.
In this role you'll
* Work closely with sporting clubs, community groups, and facility users to support positive experiences across Council venues.
* Assist with the coordination of community sporting spaces and recreation facilities used across the municipality.
* Support initiatives and projects that encourage residents to participate in sport and active recreation.
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure facilities and services operate smoothly and meet community needs.
* Contribute ideas and improvements that enhance how recreation services are delivered locally.
This role offers a salary of $83,480 – $95,636 + 12% superannuation, along with great benefits including a monthly ADO to support work‐life balance.
Desired Skills and Experience
To thrive in this role:
* Experience working in sport, recreation, community services or a similar environment.
* Strong relationship‐building skills with the ability to work effectively with clubs, community groups and internal stakeholders.
* A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes.
* Confidence communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders and resolving operational issues.
* A qualification in Sport, Recreation, Leisure Management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Join a collaborative team that values new ideas and supports initiatives that encourage active and connected communities.
