FEC Construction QLD has commenced the final stage of the Queen's Wharf Project, Towers 5 & 6. When complete, Tower 5 will be one of the largest skyscrapers in Brisbane and the tallest of the Queen's Wharf project.
About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Site Engineer to oversee the delivery of structural engineering work in line with Australian Standards, industry codes, and project specifications. The role requires strong technical capability across design, analysis, and compliance to ensure all structural elements are safe, durable, and suitable for their intended purpose.
You will work closely with project Director and managers, architects, and site teams to support construction activities, review technical drawings, conduct structural assessments, and prepare engineering documentation.
Key Duties
* Analyse architectural and engineering plans to determine structural requirements and load calculations.
* Design structural frameworks using steel, concrete, timber, and other materials in accordance with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and relevant Australian Standards.
* Prepare technical drawings, specifications, models, and engineering reports.
* Conduct site inspections to assess structural integrity and ensure compliance.
* Investigate structural defects, risks, and non-compliance issues, providing corrective recommendations.
* Liaise with architects, surveyors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure engineering solutions align with project needs.
* Prepare certification documentation, risk assessments, and feasibility reports.
Successful Applicants Must Have
* Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a structural engineering role or similar.
* Strong knowledge of structural design principles, Australian Standards, and engineering software (Strand7, AutoCAD, Revit).
* Demonstrated capability in preparing technical calculations, engineering reports, and certifications.
* Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
