Provide strong leadership and senior management of multiple sites and / or services whilst overseeing the operation of the BIENCO, bioengineered cornea research consortium,to ensure delivery of agreed milestones.
BIENCO is a health technology startup founded by a team of experienced healthcare professionals, scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs. Its vision is to reduce corneal blindness on a globalscale with the mission to become the world's first manufacturer of bioengineered corneas for the treatment of corneal disease. The BIENCO research consortium will be transitioned into a fully-fledged bioengineering and manufacturing company delivering innovative solutions for eye diseases worldwide by 2025 to :
* Accelerate access to surgical services for people awaiting a corneal transplantation.
* Improve the lives of those with corneal blindness, by restoring their vision and allowing them to live their best possible life.
* Reduce the burden on the healthcare system and end-of-life organ donation services.
* Strengthen Australia's bioengineering and biomedical technology sectors.
This position is a key management position for the BIENCO research group and in conjunction with the Manufacturing Coordination and Manufacturing Quality Team Leaders, responsible for providing expert advice and specialist support to the BIENCO governance functions, as well as linking strategy with research operations, communications, and support to the BIENCO Interim Chief Executive Officer.
