About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Sand Blaster / Spray Painter to join our manufacturing team. This role involves preparing, blasting, and painting small components, large structural parts, and complete agricultural equipment assemblies, delivering high-quality, durable finishes designed to withstand demanding field conditions. Key Responsibilities: Surface Preparation: Abrasive blast small and large components, including full assemblies. Remove rust, scale, grease, weld residue, and other contaminants. Mask threads, hydraulic ports, machined surfaces, and critical interfaces. Inspect components before and after blasting to identify defects. Spray Painting & Coating: Apply primers, topcoats, and protective coatings to parts and assembled machinery. Mix paints accurately according to specifications, ensuring correct ratios, pot life, and induction times. Achieve consistent film thickness, coverage, and finish across complex assemblies. Perform touch-ups as required after handling or assembly. Handling & Setup: Safely load, move, and position large components using forklifts, cranes, or jigs. Plan job setups to minimize handling damage and rework. Quality & Production: Deliver finishes that meet OEM durability and visual standards. Identify and address coating defects, contamination, or adhesion issues. Maintain organized, clean blasting and painting areas while adhering to production schedules. Equipment, Maintenance & Safety: Maintain blast pots, spray guns, booths, extraction systems, and compressors. Manage consumables such as abrasives, paint, thinners, filters, and PPE. Follow all WHS procedures and SDS requirements for paints and chemicals. Skills & Experience: Proven experience in abrasive blasting and industrial spray painting. Experience working on large fabricated structures or machinery. Ability to operate lifting equipment (forklift/crane) or willingness to obtain certification.
