About the company/role: Our Sydney office is recruiting for a Product Development Manager to work within a leading manufacturer providing fresh food product ranges for several different customers including service companies and leading retail chains.
The business is a leading Australian company and has a long and stable history with an established footprint in its space.
The Product Development Manager will have 3 direct reports and will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver NPD projects with agreed customer timelines.
This is a full-time, permanent role with standard office and reports directly to the Head of Product Development.
Duties: Develop and manage a team of three Product Development Leads Foster strong relationships with key retailer customers – acting as primary liaison and scheduling meetings on-site or at customers site Execute projects through their full NPD Stage-gate life cycle and ensure they are in line with customers agreed timelines and budget Provide hands-on support to cover the team during busy periods and annual leave Conduct post-launch reviews and implement actionable improvements Drive continuous improvement through streamlining processes, removing bottlenecks and optimising resources Skills/experience: Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or a related discipline Proven experience managing NPD projects through their full life cycle is essential Previous experience working with Australian retailers – Coles, Woolworths, Aldi Prior experience providing leadership or mentorship to junior team members Hands-on factory trial experience in a food manufacturing environment In-depth knowledge of Australian food legislation, food microbiology, high-care production environments and short shelf life products Culture Benefits: Opportunity to work with a leading Australian fresh produce manufacturer supplying major retailers Competitive salary on offer Flexible work arrangement Work as part of a dynamic, cross-functional team to ensure full life cycle of projects Apply
