We are currently seeking a Regional Manager to lead our expanding team in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). Regional Managers play a critical role in achieving Bastion's strategic objectives and priorities. The right candidate will have excellent EQ and interpersonal skills ensuring local personnel are supported and engaged. Developing and maintaining relationships with our valued clients is also a key requirement for the role as well as representing the company externally at conferences and other outreach initiatives.

The right fit for this role will play an instrumental part in maintaining our brand through active client engagement and maintaining the Bastion culture ensuring the well-being of our personnel.

The ACT Regional Manager requires the following core competencies:

* Leadership Skills: Ability to guide and inspire the ACT Bastion team, make informed decisions, and provide direction to achieve Bastion goals.
* Strategic Thinking: Capacity to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the Bastion's objectives and priorities.
* Regional knowledge: Good understanding of the ACT operating environment, market trends, key stakeholders, threats, and opportunities.
* Decision Making: Sound judgment and ability to make timely decisions, considering both short-term and long-term implications.
* Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances, industry trends, and Bastion needs.
* Business Development: Makes connections and brings a great network.
* Client Focus: Recognising and addressing the needs of customers or clients to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
* Values Based: Makes decisions from a base of high ethical standards and looking out for fellow Bastioneers.

Core Responsibilities:

The ACT Regional Manager plays a pivotal role in driving Bastion's success. This position is accountable for local culture, delivering revenue growth and ensuring adherence to budgetary goals. A key focus of the role is fostering strong organic capabilities in Bastion striving to continually improve our employee and client experience.

Canberra Market Development

Monitor the size, growth, and overall health of the ACT region's sales pipeline to ensure consistent business development and conversion.

Market Intelligence

Stay informed of industry trends and competitive intelligence to inform strategic and operational decision-making.

Strategic Collaboration

Work with Bastion's Chief Business Strategy Officer to shape and execute regional strategies and establish clear business priorities aligned with market opportunities and needs.

Resource Optimisation and Utilisation

Lead resource planning and allocation using performance metrics and measurable KPIs to maximize efficiency and impact.

Culture & Team Engagement

Preserving Bastion Culture and managing the wellbeing and engagement of team members through regular catch ups and events.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Minimum 10 years' experience in Defence or related field.
* Defence or related field experience must encompass Defence, Engineering and/or Maritime sectors.
* Tertiary qualification in a STEM discipline and/or significant Defence acquisition or sustainment experience highly regarded.
* Proven ability to support and deliver Defence capability projects that meet technical and program requirements.

Key Skills and Experience:

* Proven background in Defence, Maritime or Engineering or Project Management disciplines.
* Proven experience leading teams to effectively deliver outcomes with high resource utilisation rates.
* Minimum 7+ years of team leadership experience is required.
* Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities.

* To be eligible to apply for the role you are required to have held an active or re-instatable Security Clearance.
* Baseline security clearance level is required for eligibility.
