We're seeking a driven and knowledgeable Technical Sales Representative to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in fabrication, engineering, or trade sales who enjoys combining technical know-how with strong customer service and business development skills.
About the Role
As a Technical Sales Representative, you'll be the key link between our workshop and our clients — building relationships, identifying opportunities, and ensuring our products and services meet customer needs from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities include:
· Cold Calling on potential customers or commercial clients
· Developing a strong understanding of RMF Fabrication's products, capabilities, and services, as well as competitor offerings and market conditions
· Regular call run to existing clients to identify and act on existing and new opportunities, keeping the client relationship strong
· Assessing customer requirements and recommending suitable fabrication solutions
· Preparing and negotiating quotes, prices, and credit terms, and completing contracts and sales orders
· Coordinating delivery of goods, installation of fabricated components
· Monitoring customer needs and competitor activity, and providing feedback to management
· Following up with clients to ensure satisfaction and resolving any issues that arise
· Preparing regular sales reports and maintaining accurate expense and activity records
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll need to be proactive, technically minded, with attention to detail and confident in communicating with customers, clients and the workshop floor to boardroom.
· Experience in technical sales, fabrication, or manufacturing (preferred)
· Minimum of 5+ years experience in technical sales, fabrication, or manufacturing is essential
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or technical specifications
· Basic understanding of reading and interpreting engineering drawings or technical specifications is required
· Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
· Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage time effectively
· Current driver's licence and willingness to visit clients and sites
· Australian work rights required, or visa sponsorship may be available for suitable candidates
