Role Overview
We are seeking Automation Test Engineers to support a major, long-term technology program within the initiative. This position plays a key role in designing, managing, and executing automated testing activities across cloud-native applications built using JavaScript/TypeScript and, within a mature CI/CD delivery environment.
The program runs through to June 2027, with ongoing extensions anticipated. Test Engineers will work closely with development, DevOps, and delivery teams to ensure solutions meet functional, performance, and quality standards in a highly regulated government environment.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for and TypeScript/JavaScript applications.
* Implement and manage automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
* Support Test Driven Development (TDD) and shift-left testing practices in collaboration with developers.
* Execute functional, integration, and regression testing across APIs and microservices.
* Validate high-throughput, cloud-native applications.
* Ensure test coverage across AWS-based and containerised environments.
* Analyse test results, identify defects, and work with delivery teams to ensure timely resolution.
* Maintain test artefacts, documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement of testing standards.
* Participate in test planning, estimation, and reporting activities.
Requirements
* Must have a current/valid baseline security clearance or higher.
* Proven experience as an Automation Test Engineer in modern software delivery environments.
* Hands-on experience testing applications built with JavaScript / TypeScript and
* Strong experience implementing automated testing within CI/CD environments.
* Demonstrated experience testing APIs and microservices.
* Understanding of cloud-native and containerised architectures.
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Desirable Experience
* Experience testing AWS-based applications.
* Familiarity with performance or high-throughput testing
