Why volunteer in a Red Cross Shop? You’ll help curate high quality items, rescue pre-loved clothing from landfills, raise funds to support vulnerable people across Australia, work with a team, and access training and development opportunities. You’ll also receive a generous discount on all purchases.
Responsibilities
- Welcoming and engaging customers
- Processing transactions through point of sale, including cash and eftpos payments
- Sorting and pricing donations
- Creating vibrant displays to attract shoppers
- Keeping the shop clean and tidy
- Following all shop processes
What does a typical day look like?
Your 4-hour shift (or more if you like) involves a variety of tasks as described above.

- Friendly and positive attitude
- Sociable and engaging with others
- Happy to work as part of a team
- Flexible and willing to do any of the shop tasks
- Commitment to your nominated shift
Application process
- No need to upload a resume – just tell us why you’re interested in the role
- Friendly interview in store where you can ask questions
- You must be at least 15 years of age (QLD – You must be 16)
- Completing a National Police check (paid for by Red Cross)
- Complete an Induction into our organisation and Retail program
