Mine Geologist
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Mine Geologist in an underground mining environment. As a key member of the technical team, you will be responsible for conducting mine geology activities, including face mapping, sampling, and updating plans and sections with geology data.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Conducting daily mine geology activities, including face mapping, face sampling, and updating all plans and sections with geology data.
2. Assisting with wall and backs mapping of all capital and ore development to ensure regulatory compliance, monitoring geotechnical conditions, and building the knowledge base of the deposit.
3. Collecting structural measurements on each face, wall, and backs mapping, and core logging.
4. Assisting in the interpretation of the deposit's structure, lithology, alteration, and mineralisation by quality face and wall mapping and sampling, and core logging.
5. Documenting and communicating underground geology activities as part of the Technical team to ensure that activities are aligned to achieve an efficient mining cycle for development headings.
6. Providing geological information to ensure accurate reporting of daily and weekly ore UG trucking movement and surface stockpile balances.
7. Assisting with the design and supervision of underground drilling programs as required.
8. Producing high-quality geological logging of GC diamond core and plan/section interpretation.
9. Contributing to daily and weekly planning of ore movement.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Geology or equivalent from a recognised institution.
* Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role.
* Previous use of mining software - Micromine, Leapfrog, Geobank.
* Membership of AIG, AusIMM, or similar.
* Awareness of the Workplace Health and Safety Act & Regulations.
* ERT experience and willingness to join ERT is preferred.
* Current WA manual driver's Licence.
* Current First Aid certificate.
