About the Role
The Utility Person - Services/Emulsion will be involved in installation of services and co-ordination/maintenance of emulsion product/charging units. The operator will report to the U/G Supervisor and coordinate with various departments, including engineering, maintenance, and mining teams, to meet the production and operational needs of the mine.
Additional responsibilities may include assisting the mining and projects team when services or emulsion activities are not required. These duties may include truck driving, offsiding and assisting with stores and transport operations.

7/7 Roster, 12-hours shifts, rotating days & nights
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and produce emulsion product from tanks to in-hole delivery
Monitor/assist maintenance of charging equipment and adjust/refine settings to maintain product quality, consistency, and adherence to operational requirements.
Conduct regular quality checks on emulsion to ensure compliance with quality control standards. Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Train non-experienced personnel in safe and efficient use of emulsion product
Assist U/G Mining or Projects team where required when no emulsion activity is needed.
About You
5+ years of experience with emulsion in an underground mining environment.
Knowledge of emulsion equipment/product/loading processes and quality control practices.
Strong understanding of mining safety regulations and practices, especially in underground settings.
Basic mechanical skills and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting – knowledge/experience in welding/TIG welding would be an advantage
Proficiency with emulsion storage and control systems and ability to operate computerized equipment.
Ability to work in an underground mine environment with challenging conditions.
Physical fitness to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in confined spaces.
Ability to work shift schedules, including nights, weekends, and extended hours as required.
Residential mine – no FIFO, live and work locally in Ballarat
Company-supplied uniforms, fully laundered on site
