What You'll Be Doing
The Paediatrician will provide expert paediatric medical assessment and management of patients within the Department of Paediatrics. This role includes a key clinical teaching, supervision and support of junior medical staff. The position will commence at the current Moruya Hospital and assist in the transition to the new Eurobodalla Regional Hospital. Once established the role will primarily be located at Eurobodalla Regional Hospital but may be varied as agreed with the District Director of Medical Services and District Medical Lead (Paediatrics) and as approved via Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC) to other facilities in Southern NSW.
The paediatrician will be the first Eurobodalla based paediatrician joining the coastal paediatric team based at South East Regional Hospital. The role will involve outpatient clinics at Moruya and Eurobodalla Regional Hospital, outreach clinics in Narooma and Batemans Bay, with potential for additional sites in the future. The paediatrician will also participate in education and training in the SNSWLHD Coastal Network and support a 24/7 on‐call roster to Eurobodalla Regional Hospital with telehealth consultation services to hospitals in the Coastal Network.
Selection Criteria
* Recognised specialist qualifications – Fellow of The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) or the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) with Advanced Skills Training in Paediatrics
* Demonstrated recent clinical experience and competence in general paediatric medicine including acute care, neonatal care and outpatient general paediatrics (learning, development and behavioural medicine). Demonstrated interest and skills in paediatric service development, innovative models of care, and project leadership is desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and build collaborative partnerships toward a successful outcome.
* Strong skills in training and capacity building with demonstrated commitment and skills in teaching, continuing self‐education, research and quality improvement.
* Demonstrated effective clinical and interpersonal communication skills including effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills and use of information technology.
* Demonstrated commitment to patient safety.
* Availability to participate in an on‐call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time and current licence to drive in NSW.
Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases
This is a Category 'A' position. All new employees must comply with NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015 and demonstrate proof of influenza vaccination as required for NSW Staff who enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF).
