Senior Hand Therapist (12 month contract)
Our client, a prominent regional health service, is seeking an experienced Senior Hand Therapist to join their dynamic Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy department
(contract until Dec ****).
This pivotal role involves delivering patient-centred, evidence-based hand therapy to a broad patient base including inpatients, outpatients, emergency department referrals, and post-operative cases from metropolitan hospitals.
The Senior Hand Therapist
will hold responsibility for triage, assessment, and treatment within the Hand Therapy Clinic, providing clinical leadership to maintain excellence across therapy services. You will play a leadership role fostering service development, implementing guidelines for safe and effective clinical practice, and overseeing the training and supervision of junior therapists.
Responsibilities
Delivering advanced splinting, casting, exercise programmes, scar management, and wound care interventions.
Leading service improvement initiatives.
Managing clinical outcomes and KPIs.
Collaborating with orthopaedic and multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
Current AHPRA Registration
Extensive clinical expertise in hand therapy
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
Experience developing clinical competencies and service procedures is essential
Ability to communicate effectively across diverse healthcare professionals
Applicants must have
full Australian working rights
Min 7 yrs of experience
PG study's in Hand Therapy Practice
Membership with AHTA, OTA or APA
Previous participation in clinical research activities
Proficiency in language other than English
