The Victorian Curriculum & Assessment Authority (VCAA) is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian student's birth to 18 years.
An exciting ongoing opportunity is available to join the Assessment and Reporting Division within the Data Analysis and Reporting Unit.
* Salary: $97,955 - $111,142 (Plus Superannuation of 12%)

* Usual work location: East Melbourne
Role purpose
The purpose of this role is to undertake analysis and to report on the outcomes of the various F-12 assessment programs to relevant VCAA business units, VCAA senior management, the VCAA board and other educational stakeholders. The tasks will involve extracting and analysing of large amounts of data in preparing reports for internal and external clients. Your role will include but not limited to:
* Developing an understanding of the organisation's structure and corporate database, collating data from stakeholders and data custodians and undertaking quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and consistency of data outputs.
* Developing and maintaining an understanding of the VCAA data environment, documenting data processes and maintaining data dictionaries to identify limitations and strengths of data and enabling high accuracy and reliability of data for analysis.
* Performing data analysis to provide insight into assessment outcomes, including identifying key questions and conduct exploratory data analysis.
* Identifying data gaps and opportunities for improved collection and analysis.
* Other duties as directed by the team manager.
