Due to continued growth, we are excited to recruit multiple truck drivers / loaders to support our fire season activities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an opportunity for an experienced aircraft refueller / truck driver to join the Aerotech team, operating fuel trucks to various locations in Australia to support aerial fire-fighting activities, commencing in late December/early January. The role also involves providing ground crew support to our aircraft, mixing substances to be loaded into aircraft for use during the fire season, in addition to performing general day-to-day maintenance of the airbase/aircraft/vehicles. This is a great "all-rounder" position for someone keen to join a growing, successful South Australian business in the aviation industry.
Whilst aviation experience is desirable, it is not essential. You must hold a valid driver's licence and an unrestricted HR & DG truck licence. Full on-the-job training will be provided for all duties of the role.
Whilst this role would be ideally suited to someone based in South Australia, we would consider a FIFO role for the right candidate. A large amount of travel to various locations across Australia is anticipated. Travel to/from the destination and accommodation is provided by Aerotech.
DUTIES
* Operate refuelling vehicles, dispensing JetA1 fuel into rotary and fixed wing aircraft.
* Mix and load various substances, both liquid and solid, into aircraft to support fire season activity.
* Drive fuel trucks, often across long distances, to support performance of fire contracts across various locations in Australia.
* Provide ground support to aircraft and help maintain vehicles and equipment.
* Perform general shed and yard work required to maintain effective operations.
* Liaise with customers, suppliers and colleagues to ensure base operates effectively.
* Perform work using safe practices and observe WHS requirements at all times.
* Actively participate in key projects relating to the aviation team to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
* Contribute to business improvement initiatives.
* Ability to travel to locations across Australia to facilitate performance of fire contracts, as required.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
* Unrestricted driver's licence.
* Unrestricted HR & DG truck licence.
* Forklift licence (desirable).
* First Aid certificate (desirable or willing to obtain).
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
* Basic mechanical knowledge.
* Basic Restraint knowledge.
* Strong experience driving large trucks independently.
* Willingness to travel and be away from home for extended periods (generally up to 2 weeks at a time).
