Purpose of the Position:
This is a dedicated security-focused role within Atomicbit's Support Engineering team, established to strengthen the organisation's cyber security capability across both internal systems and managed client environments.
The Support Engineer (Cyber Security Analyst focus) is responsible for monitoring, analysing, and responding to cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, and security events across networks, cloud platforms, endpoints, and business systems.
The position ensures that security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation practices are embedded within Atomicbit's managed service delivery model and aligned with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
· Monitor, analyse, and respond to cyber security alerts, incidents, and suspicious activities across internal and client-managed systems.
· Perform security event monitoring using endpoint protection, firewall, cloud security, and network security tools.
· Analyse threat intelligence and security trends to proactively identify emerging risks across client environments.
· Conduct vulnerability scans, risk assessments, and security reviews across Microsoft 365, Azure, and on-premises environments.
· Investigate and document security incidents, implement remediation actions, and recommend preventive controls.
· Support secure configuration and ongoing management of firewalls, antivirus solutions, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and network security systems.
· Manage user access controls, authentication mechanisms, and privilege management to ensure secure system access.
· Assist in penetration testing coordination, security assessments, and compliance-related security activities.
· Contribute to incident response processes and support business continuity and disaster recovery planning from a security perspective.
· Maintain security documentation, risk registers, and incident reports in accordance with internal operational processes.
· Provide technical security advice to internal teams and clients, translating cyber risks into practical mitigation strategies.
· Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure secure integration of cloud and infrastructure solutions.
· Review and analyse security logs and alerts to identify patterns of malicious activity
· Stay informed of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cyber security best practices to continuously improve Atomicbit's security services.
Qualifications and Experience:
· A relevant qualification in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
· Demonstrated experience in cyber security analysis, security operations, or ICT security roles.
· Strong understanding of network security, endpoint security, and cloud security (Microsoft 365/Azure environments preferred).
· Experience in identifying, analysing, and responding to security threats and incidents.
· Ability to prepare clear technical documentation, security assessments, and incident reports.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills aligned with managed service delivery environments.
