About the role
The position of Supreme Court Registrar is crucial to the efficient and effective management of civil, criminal and appeal cases of the Supreme Court. Registrars exercise the powers authorised under legislation and perform functions delegated to the position of the Chief Justice.
Responsibilities
* Undertake case management of civil, criminal and appeal matters in accordance with the Court's case management procedures.
* Mediator civil and criminal cases with a view to achieving settlement of the case or issues in dispute.
* Tax bills of costs.
* Pass accounts and conduct examinations and enquiries.
* Settle judgments and orders.
* Undertake research and analysis of legal and operational issues.
Qualifications
Application must be a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia or qualified to be eligible for admission in Western Australia and must have a minimum five (5) years post‐admission experience. Eligibility for permanent positions in the Western Australian Public Sector requires Australian citizenship or permanent resident status.
