Job Description
St Vincents Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) is a not‐for‐profit Catholic private hospital that operates across four sites in Melbourne and Werribee. It provides state‐of‐the‐art healthcare services in orthopaedics, obstetrics, cardiology, ENT, plastic and reconstructive surgery, urology, gynaecology, general surgery, vascular care, rehabilitation and oncology/infusions, with dedicated operating theatres, day‐procedure units, a cardiac catheter laboratory and a rehabilitation gymnasium.
Position Overview
This role is for an experienced Theatre Technician (Grade 3) reporting directly to the Perioperative Services Manager at St Vincents Private Hospital Werribee. The position is permanent, part‐time, 40 hours a fortnight.
Responsibilities
* Assist the surgeon and nursing staff with surgical procedures, including the operation and maintenance of theatre equipment and the positioning/preparation of patients.
* Facilitate efficient perioperative processes, ensuring the smooth operation and running of Perioperative Services.
* Ensure equipment and stock are available at all times for other Perioperative Services staff.
Qualifications
* Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Operating Theatre Support) from an accredited institution.
* Previous experience in a perioperative setting.
* Proven strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with staff of all levels.
