As we continue to scale, we are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to strengthen our financial operations across all entities and support our leadership team with clear, strategic financial insights.
The Role
We're looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of our financial management, provide strategic insights, and oversee our bookkeeper to ensure accuracy and compliance.
This role is perfect for someone who loves building structure, improving financial processes, and helping drive the business forward with strong data.
Hours: 21 hours per week (3 days)
Location: One day in our Sydney office; remaining days can be worked from home.
Rate: $75 per hour + Super + Bonus
Reports to: Director / Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and review bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and BAS.
Maintain accurate financial records for multiple studio entities.
Prepare weekly financial reports for leadership.
Complete month-end reconciliations across all accounts.
Prepare and deliver monthly management reports including P&L and cashflow.
Lead budgeting and forecasting, including scenario planning.
Monitor financial performance and provide insights and recommendations.
Improve financial processes, reporting systems, and internal controls.
Liaise with external accountants, advisers, and the ATO as needed.
Guide and oversee the bookkeeper to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
About You
5+ years experience in financial management, controlling, or similar.
CPA/CA qualified or equivalent experience (preferred).
Proficient in Xero and modern accounting tools.
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple entities.
Confident communicator with the ability to lead and guide a bookkeeper.
Process-driven, proactive, and reliable.
