Southern Region Command Division is responsible for the delivery of custodial services across Queensland. People in custody are supervised in either high or low security correctional centres. High security centres provide for the management of adult prisoners held in secure custody correctional centres across Queensland.
This role is a Team Leader under the Leadership Competencies for Queensland framework.
Within the context of the role accountabilities described in About the Role, the most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements of the Team Leader leadership stream:
• Experience in financial functions and managing administration functions
• Ability to supervise staff
• Experience in managing and co-ordinating a wide range of account management functions
• Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills for liaising with management and staff at all levels, to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources and other relevant issues
• Experience with the use of financial management systems (SAP would be an advantage)
• Demonstrated ability to understand and apply legislation, policies and procedures relevant to the position
• Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced by the ability to build successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders with a range of competing interests
Other conditions and requirements
There may be instances where the incumbent will be required to work hours outside the normal work hours, undertake travel to other locations, or temporarily work from an alternate location.
