The Role
As Design Manager, you’ll take ownership of the design side of projects during pre-construction, ensuring documentation is compliant, buildable and aligned with the project brief before construction begins.
This is not a sales role and not an estimating position.
Formal pitching experience is not required.
This role would suit a senior designer or design coordinator who genuinely understands commercial fit-out design and compliance, and is ready to step into a broader, contractor-side position.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and reviewing design documentation during pre-construction
* Ensuring compliance with NCC, BCA and relevant Australian Standards
* Coordinating external consultants including architects, interior designers, engineers and certifiers
* Reviewing designs for buildability, clarity and risk
* Supporting tenders and submissions from a design and compliance perspective
* Assisting with early planning across commercial, education, healthcare and government projects
* Working closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth handover into delivery
