Overview
Becoming a Pastoral care Volunteer with BaptistCare involves listening to ageing members of our community about their lives, stories and experiences. Our Pastoral Care Volunteers work with older people in their journey to discover meaning, purpose and hope in their lives. At times this may include supporting their engagement in church or faith group activities.
Program details
BaptistCare's Pastoral Care Volunteer program uses the Spiritual Care Series training course. This 8-week (16-hour) course equips you to offer quality pastoral and spiritual care. Once the course is successfully completed, graduates are then given the opportunity to gain practical experience with one of our Chaplains. You will then be matched with residents and spend time doing pastoral care visits.

Each Pastoral Care Volunteer belongs to a team cared for by one of our Chaplains. The team meet monthly to provide ongoing support and encouragement.
