The role
Who We’re Looking For We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Research Analyst who understands how Australian property markets truly move — not just how to interpret surface‑level data.
This role is suited to a commercially minded, strategic thinker with strong analytical capability and a deep understanding of market cycles, credit conditions, supply‑demand dynamics, and economic drivers. You are confident working across national datasets, identifying emerging growth markets early, and translating complex research into clear investment strategy.
You are not a junior analyst. You are someone who can independently assess markets, challenge assumptions, refine methodology, and contribute directly to high‑level strategic decisions alongside the Director.
What You’ll Be Doing National Market Identification
Analyse property markets across Australian states and LGAs
Assess economic drivers including employment growth, infrastructure investment and industry concentration
Evaluate demographic trends including internal migration and population growth
Monitor supply pipelines including approvals, commencements and land release
Identify emerging growth markets early in the cycle
Maintain a structured national watchlist and ranking model
Research Framework Development
Refine and enhance our proprietary LGA scorecard
Introduce new leading indicators and analytical tools
Back test previous hotspot performance to improve forecasting accuracy
Develop structured market comparison models
Improve internal dashboards and data interpretation processes
Strategic Investment Support
Prepare detailed market briefs to support client investment strategy
Present research findings to leadership
Quantify risk and upside scenarios for recommended locations
Continuously monitor recommended markets for shifts in conditions
Thoght Leadership and Content Creation
Produce quarterly research reports
Write research driven articles for clients and email campaigns
Contribute insights to podcast discussions and educational seminars
Support development of publishable research materials
Assist in strengthening Fresh Start Advisory’s market authority
Must-Have Skills & Experience
Proven experience analysing Australian property markets at a strategic level
Strong understanding of market cycles, credit cycles and macroeconomic drivers
Experience evaluating supply pipelines and development trends
Advanced ability to interpret demographic and economic data
Strong data analysis capability (Excel, modelling, dashboards or equivalent tools)
Experience building or refining research frameworks or scoring models
Ability to translate complex research into clear, commercially relevant insights
Strong written communication skills for report and content production
Strategic thinking with the ability to identify emerging trends early
Experience within property research, funds management, buyer’s agency research, property economics or advisory environments will be highly regarded.
