**About the team**

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

Network and Assets branch are leaders in the management of State-owned assets across Regional NSW. These include road, rail, ferry, property and heritage assets. Functions include asset management, network safety and reliability, project development and delivery, contract management and mobilisation, maintenance operations, strategic procurement as well as entry pathways for regional talent.

**The Role**

The Network and Assets branch at Transport for NSW have an outstanding opportunity for a Category Manager to join their Strategic Procurement team to manage a number of construction procurement categories. In this role you will be responsible for the strategic development and execution of category strategies that focus on optimising costs, creating value, improving suppliers' performance, reducing risk and extracting innovation from supply base for the Regional Maintenance Delivery Branch and Asset Maintenance Division.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you must have experience in contemporary Category Management and supplier performance management within a direct engineering environment.

You will have solid leadership skills leading, developing and managing performance of a Category team consist of Category Specialist and Procurement and Contract Officer.

A customer-centric approach with a keen sense for the delivery of value to the communities we serve is what will see you succeed in this role. You will be able to demonstrate highly developed stakeholder management skills.

To be successful in this role you will require the ability to plan, prioritize and organize work while delivering on tight deadlines, have strong attention to detail, be customer focused, demonstrate drive and commitment, and have effective communication, negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

We're looking for people who have an affinity for regional NSW. You will be passionate about supporting regional employment and sustainability through procurement strategies that stimulate local economic development and engage local suppliers. **Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is USS10 ($128,887- $ 140,851) - per annum plus superannuation
