The Talent Acquisition team works closely with senior academic leaders, Deans, and professional services leaders to deliver high‐quality, compliant, and timely recruitment outcomes in a complex higher‐education environment.
About the Role
UOWD is seeking a highly organised, proactive, and delivery‐focused Recruiter to support end‐to‐end recruitment for both academic and professional roles.
This role is ideal for a recruiter who thrives in a fast‐paced, stakeholder‐rich environment, enjoys balancing coordination with active sourcing, and takes pride in delivering an excellent candidate and hiring‐manager experience.
You will manage multiple vacancies simultaneously, support academic hiring cycles, build talent pipelines for hard‐to‐fill roles, and ensure recruitment activity is executed accurately, efficiently, and in line with university policies.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the full recruitment lifecycle, from requisition approval through to offer and onboarding
Draft and publish job advertisements across internal and external platforms
Screen applications for academic and professional roles and prepare quality shortlists
Conduct initial screening calls to assess suitability and provide informed recommendations
Proactively source candidates using LinkedIn, job boards, academic networks, and databases
Build and maintain talent pools for recurring and specialist academic roles
Support workforce readiness through pipeline development
Stakeholder & Process Management
Work closely with Deans, Heads of School, Faculty, and Hiring Managers to understand recruitment needs
Coordinate interview scheduling, panels, and logistics
Prepare interview documentation and committee packs
Track recruitment progress and maintain accurate dashboards and ATS records
Governance & Candidate Experience
Ensure compliance with university recruitment policies, approvals, and documentation standards
Maintain audit‐ready recruitment records
About You:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline
1–3 years of recruitment or HR experience, preferably within higher education or a structured organisation
Demonstrated experience supporting academic or faculty recruitment
Strong sourcing capability across LinkedIn, job boards, and candidate databases
Experience using an ATS or recruitment system
Excellent organisation, coordination, and follow‐up skills
Strong stakeholder communication and relationship‐management ability
