Primary objective
In collaboration with the Executive Director, Aboriginal Health Engagement and Workforce, manage and support the development
and implementation of strategic workforce initiatives to enhance the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker and
Practitioner professions.

Context statement
This position will focus on implementing workforce strategies and policy frameworks, which build and strengthen the Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker and Practitioner workforce across the NT to ensure culturally and clinically safe health
care is delivered.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high level, timely and accurate advice and support to the Executive Director, Aboriginal Health Engagement and

Workforce and other NT Health Executives to effectively manage outcomes and deliverables from the workforce action plan.
2. Project manage and implement the workforce initiatives identified in the Attraction and Retention review
3. Develop and maintain a library of documents to support recruitment of AHPs and AHWs in all parts of NT Health, including job

description templates, role guides and scope of practice exemplars
4. Prepare and respond to ministerial and executive requests and provide project status reports and present briefings to senior

management as required
5. Develop and maintain team-oriented partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders, particularly organisations involved in

training pathways for AHPs and AHWs.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Sound knowledge and experience in operational human resource management, workforce development and workforce planning

within a large, complex, and diverse organisational setting.
2. Demonstrated experience in project management and changing management principles to achieve organizational outcomes
3. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts and information into audience specific, meaningful

written briefings/documents/presentations including highly developed presentation skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to work independently or with limited supervision and use sound judgement, initiative, problem solving

skills to achieve outcomes.

Desirable
1. Understanding of the Australian Qualifications Framework and its application for training course in health, social and community

service sectors.
