Job Responsibilities:
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation
* Observing and reporting change in resident need requirements
* Ensuring maintenance of clean linen and making of beds for residents
* Assisting residents with mobility
* Acurately delivering laundered clothing to residents' rooms
* Assisting with the serving of meals and assisting residents as required
* Assisting in the delivery of specialized nursing needs for residents
* Assisting in personal hygiene and dressing
* Supporting independence of residents by providing appropriate assistance with personal care in accordance with care plans
* Liaising with staff, residents, visitors, GPs and allied health professionals to provide prompt and friendly service
* Acting to protect the rights of residents including confidentiality, privacy, individual choice and decision-making
* Providing emotional support to residents
* Attending meetings and compulsory education as required
* Identifying self-education needs
* Participating in safety and improvement activities for the organisation
* Identifying and reporting areas of risk (including complaints) within the scope of the position
* Displaying responsibility for self, team and environment
* Ensuring compliance with all legislation and other requirements relevant to your position
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in aged or disabled care
* Ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
* Physical ability to perform tasks associated with the role
