Exciting full-time opportunity in Geelong Give back by taking on a role that supports mental health & wellbeing $44.58 – 47.97 phr (SCHADS Level 4B) Leave loading Salary packaging About the opportunity The Greater Geelong and Borough of Queenscliff (GGQ) Local Mental Health and Wellbeing Service is delivered by a consortium of equal partners: Barwon Health, Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd, Wellways Australia and Erhma365. It is a safe space for all community members and is a service underpinned by positivity, hope and inclusion. As our new Mental Health & Alcohol and Other Drug (MH&AOD) Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to program participants, enabling them, their families, and carers to address psychosocial, emotional, and alcohol and other drug-related needs. In this role, you will walk alongside participants throughout their journey in the program; from the initial conversation and support planning, through to delivering 1:1 therapeutic psychosocial interventions, education, and AOD support. You will play a vital role in ensuring participants, carers, and their families receive compassionate, meaningful, and effective care every step of the way. About you You’re empathetic and relish opportunities to make meaningful difference in the lives of people in our community. You will also have the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, including alongside team members who have lived and living experience of mental health. You will need: Relevant degree and experience or Associate Diploma with substantial experience, in the field of study of, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Community Services and Social Welfare, or less formal qualifications with specialized skills sufficient to perform at this level Evidence of right to work in Australia Current full driver licence National Police Check ( valid within the last 12 months) Working with Children Check NDIS Workers Screening check International Police Check (if relevant) NDIS Workers Orientation module certificate – free online course About Us Wellways connects people, strengthens families, and transforms communities for individuals of all ages experiencing disabilities or challenges to their social and emotional wellbeing.
