Diesel Mechanic – Field Service

Pay Rate: $40–$50 per hour (PAYG) + Super + Overtime + Company Vehicle
Hours: Monday to Friday | 7:00 am – 3:00 pm (Overtime Available)
TRS Resourcing is partnering with a well-established transport equipment maintenance company in Sydney to secure an experienced Diesel Mechanic for Field Service. This position will see you working on prime movers and heavy transport equipment, delivering servicing, diagnostics, and repairs across client sites. This is a permanent opportunity offering stability, modern equipment, and a supportive team environment.
About the Role: Reporting to the Workshop Manager, your responsibilities will include:
* Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
* Diagnostic fault finding across diesel engines, driveline, braking, and chassis systems
* Mechanical repairs and component replacements
* Overhauls and adjustments to heavy vehicle systems
* Attending breakdowns and field service call-outs
* Maintaining accurate service and compliance documentation
* Ensuring all work is completed in line with safety and regulatory standards
About You: We are seeking reliable, trade-qualified mechanics who can operate autonomously in a field-based role while maintaining high workmanship standards.
You will ideally have:
* Experience servicing and repairing prime movers or heavy vehicles
* Strong diesel diagnostic and troubleshooting capability
* Background in transport or fleet maintenance environments
* Valid driver’s licence (HR or HC highly regarded)
* Ability to manage workloads and prioritise tasks independently
Experience working on agricultural, civil, mining, or fixed-plant equipment will also be highly regarded.
Essential Requirements To be considered, you must have:
* Relevant trade qualification (Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic or equivalent)
* Demonstrated fault-finding and mechanical repair experience
* Current right to work in Australia
* Own tools
* Two recent, contactable employment referees
