About the role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Development Nurse for our Newman Health Service based in the Pilbara. This is a permanent full‐time position.
Responsibilities
The Staff Development Nurse will contribute to the attainment of Pilbara Region health goals by ensuring opportunities for development and assurance of clinical competence of nursing staff. In collaboration with the Regional Nurse Educator, the role plans, implements and evaluates inter‐professional programmes addressing the learning needs of nurses and midwives within the Pilbara region, including graduate nurses, to meet regulatory, quality and safety standards with a focus on consumer‐centred care.
The position will identify educational needs, prepare, conduct and facilitate training, assess knowledge and skills, support new staff orientation, coaching and preceptorship, and provide ongoing professional development support for all nursing and other staff, including clinical risk management training. The role reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager and collaborates with the Regional Nurse Educator and other regional Staff Development Nurses. The role is based at Newman Health Service but will spend at least one week per month supporting Tom Price and Paraburdoo Hospitals, and may travel to other Pilbara sites.
Qualifications and Experience
* Highly experienced and values‐driven staff development nurse.
* Demonstrated high level of nursing experience and clinical expertise in the Emergency Department.
* Experience in planning and implementing education and training programmes and participation in hospital‐wide staff development programmes.
* Eligible for AHPRA registration.
* Have a valid Australian visa or citizenship/permanent residency.
