Description
Our firm is seeking a Solicitor, for a part-time role, commencing immediately, with the possibility to be offered the position on a permanent basis. The role is primarily in our Wills and Estates & Family Law Department. However, there will also be some legal work in Property Law and Commercial Law. This a great opportunity for a lawyer wishing to gain experience in a highly regarded local firm, and who has an interest, or experience in the said law fields. This role is on-site, not hybrid or from home (subject to the legislation).
Responsibilities
* Preparing Family Law court documents, including affidavits, applications, and supporting material
* Providing legal assistance and support in Family Law matters, including parenting and property matters
* Drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney
* Assistance in providing Grant of Probate/Adminstration
* Reporting to and working under the guidance of the Principal Solicitor
* Ability to work autonomouslyand manage assigned tasks responsibly
Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Current Practising Certificate in Victoria, or about to apply for Practising Certificate (current PLT students will be considered)
* Experience with LEAP will be highly regarded.
* Minimum 1-year experience in practise is preferred (if still under Supervision, you will be supervised by our Principal Solicitor). However, we are willing to consider applications from current PLT students.
* Experience in Family law & Wills and Estates will be highly regarded.
