SuniTAFE is seeking a skilled and dynamic First Aid Teacher on a casual basis to deliver high‑quality training across Certificate III to Diploma‑level programs at our Mildura campus. Reporting to the Nursing Manager this role will deliver engaging learning in and ensure training is practical, compliant and aligned to community and employer needs across Mildura and surrounding regions.
Working collaboratively with the Nursing Manager and Education Nursing Unit, the role will help shaping programs around client demand while supporting student success and real‑world capability in emergency response. Your responsibilities will include:
* Teach and assess First Aid programs.
* Prepare engaging learning resources and customised materials to support competency-based training.
* Provide flexible learning solutions to maximise student engagement and retention.
* Carry out necessary preparation, correction, assessment, validation and report writing associated with teaching duties.
* Ensure that effective learning is taking place with students under proper instruction and supervision.
* Participate in student progress interviews as required.
* Liaise with students and Student Support Services staff to assist students in areas of identified need.
* Ensure compliance with SuniTAFE's Staff Code of Conduct, Child Safety Policy and Child Safety Procedures at all times.

Key Selection Criteria
* Must hold HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education and childcare setting
* A current Certificate IV TAE (TAE40122 or equivalent) is essential to the position.
* Minimum of three years professional industry experience.
* Demonstrated ability to teach in the delivery area at tertiary and higher education level is desirable.
* Ability to work with a diverse learner population is required.
* Highly developed interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
* Well-developed skills in teaching including the ability to select and use a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to a diverse student population and the competency standards required.
* Highly developed organisation skills which provide the ability to deal with tight timelines and conflicting demands.
* Commitment to deliver high quality programs across a range of qualification levels.
The successful candidate will be required to provide:
* A successful criminal record check which is less than 6 months old.
* A working with children check.
