Overview
Solution Engineer – Robotics & Intralogistics
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Solution Engineer to join our Robotics & Intralogistics (R&I;) division. In this pivotal role, you will support the design, pricing, and delivery of large-scale automation and supply chain projects. You will be involved across the full project lifecycle—from presales concept development and system design through to project execution, customer handover, and after-sales support. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex and innovative projects while contributing to continuous improvement and product development initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Automation and Supply Chain Solutions SBUs in achieving business and strategic goals.
- Provide presales support, including developing concepts, preparing pricing, and creating technical and commercial documentation.
- Deliver projects from initiation to completion, ensuring quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Define scope, design systems, manage procurement, and oversee installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Manage project schedules, milestones, cash flow, and budgets.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with OH&S;, ISO 9001:2015, and customer-specific safety and quality requirements.
- Support customers and technicians during technical breakdowns across multiple time zones.
- Develop and maintain client documentation, including FAT/SAT protocols, manuals, and service checklists.
- Facilitate the setup of service agreements and allocate costs for rectification work.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across design and delivery processes.
- Contribute to new product development and innovation projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

You are a hands-on engineer with a strong technical foundation in automation or mechatronics and a proven track record in delivering complex engineering projects.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology (Control Systems, Computer Systems, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical).
- 4–5 years’ experience in solutions engineering, automation, or project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end project lifecycles (design, costing, procurement, commissioning, and handover).
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems with the ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Proven project management skills — including scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder communication.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Valid Australian work rights and driver’s licence.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience in material handling automation or supply chain solutions.
- Exposure to FAT/SAT documentation, service agreements, and system commissioning.
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a focus on process improvement.
- Proven customer-focused approach with the ability to build and maintain robust client relationships.
- Adaptability to work across multiple time zones and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
