About the Role:
* Direct and lead team members and/or contractors to carry out duties in accordance with Councils standards, Safe Work Practices, environmental and quality procedures
* Maintain the Water Supply Reticulation Systems and Wastewater Drainage Systems including rising mains, reservoirs and pumping stations throughout the Local Government Area in accordance with Council policies and procedures
* Be available for weekend and on-call rosters and be available to respond to emergency call-outs when required
* Contribute to the delivery of services and works as required for the Water & Wastewater Department
* Monitor own work performance and progress towards the delivery of work plan goals and report on progress to Supervisor
* Use resources efficiently, effectively and responsibly to complete tasks that either contribute to or directly deliver services
About You:
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Minimum education of NSW Record of School Achievement (RoSA) or equivalent with demonstrated contemporary experience in a similar role
* Demonstrated experience in effectively supervising staff
* Demonstrate experience in plumbing and/or the operation and maintenance of public water supply reticulation and wastewater drainage systems
* Current Confined Space Certificate
* Chemical Handling Certification
* Wastewater Certificate
* Fluoridation Certificate
* Water Certificate
* Ability to work with minimum supervision
* Demonstrated experience in effectively supervising staff
* Construction Induction White Card
* Demonstrated ability to operate, competently, small plant, including: Lawnmowers, whipper snippers, sludge pumps and water snorter (pipeline pressure cleaner)
* Demonstrate ability to provide efficient and effective customer service
* Physically fit to complete all aspects of the position
* Demonstrated ability to work and participate in a team environment
* Proven commitment to Work Health and Safety
* Demonstrate ability and willingness to undertake training in water and wastewater operations as and when required
* Current NSW Class LR Motor Vehicle Drivers' Licence
* Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Guidance Plan Licence.
* Excavator Licence
* Working at Heights Licence
* Asbestos Awareness Licence
* Asbestos Handling Licence
Desirable criteria:
* Knowledge and understanding of Radio Telemetry
* Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
* Experience in pipeline construction for the laying of water and wastewater mains or ability to learn
* Traffic Controller Certificate
* Implement Traffic Control Plans Certificate
* Certificate of Competence in Excavator Operation
* Certification in Water Treatment (Cert III) or Certificate in Water Industry Operations
* Drivers Licence MR (Medium Rigid)
