Stores & Yard person Location: Fremantle

About the Role We are seeking a proactive and organised Stores & Yard person to support our operations by managing stores, procurement, and logistics activities.
Our Client is a Marine Engineering business, this is a hands-on role that works closely with key stakeholders to ensure materials, equipment, and freight are coordinated efficiently and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Procurement Manager, your responsibilities will include:
* Load and unload trucks as required
* Maintain a safe yard and hardstand area during loading and unloading activities
* Order stock and maintain appropriate inventory levels
* Organise pickups from suppliers and coordinate deliveries
* Coordinate freight and transport logistics to ensure timely delivery to site
* Manage incoming and outgoing goods, including inspection, documentation, and stock control
* Maintain accurate inventory records within the inventory management system
* Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure compliance with company standards
* Support operations by maintaining efficient stores and procurement processes
* Assist with inventory audits, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Work closely with the Procurement Manager and Marine Engineering Business Manager
* There is no onsite staff parking if you have a motor bike that is ok but be aware you will need to pay for parking.
About You You’re an organised, solutions-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment. You’ll bring:
* Experience in purchasing, procurement, or stores/inventory roles within mining, heavy industry, or equipment services
* Sound knowledge of supply chain and logistics coordination, including transport booking and tracking
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
* High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
* Strong computer skills and experience using ERP or inventory management systems
* Current High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (essential)
