IT Systems Administrator (Level 2 Support)

As our team expands, we are looking for a capable and self‐motivated IT Systems Administrator to take ownership of our internal IT systems and help ensure our infrastructure remains reliable, secure and scalable.

The Role
This is a hands‐on role that sits at the heart of our technology operations.
You will be the first point of contact for internal IT support, the owner of AMLab's device and security ecosystem, and a key contributor to the systems and infrastructure that support our engineering and operations teams.
We are looking for someone who can operate independently, take ownership of tasks end‐to‐end, and build solutions that fit our environment as a fast‐paced technology company.
Unlike large corporate IT roles, this position offers variety and autonomy, with exposure to a wide range of technologies supporting both corporate systems and engineering environments.
Primary Responsibilities Infrastructure & Networks
* Support and maintain AMLab's internal IT infrastructure
* Troubleshoot and maintain IT and OT networks
* Monitor systems performance and reliability
* Liaise with external vendors and service providers where required
Endpoint Device Management
* Manage company laptops, workstations and user devices
* Configure new hardware and software for employees
* Manage device lifecycle including provisioning, updates and replacements
Microsoft 365 & Identity
* Manage Microsoft 365 environment, including user accounts and permissions
* Administer identity and access management across company systems
* Support collaboration tools and internal productivity platforms
Cybersecurity
* Maintain cybersecurity practices appropriate for a small but growing technology company
* Support device security, patching and access control
* Assist with improving internal security practices and policies
Internal IT Support
* Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for AMLab staff
* Troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues
* Maintain internal documentation and knowledge base
* Identify opportunities to improve IT systems and processes
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be someone who enjoys solving technical problems and taking ownership of systems.
You will likely have experience working in a small or medium‐sized organisation, where flexibility and initiative are required.
Australian work rights are required for this position.
You will bring:
* Minimum of 1 to 2 years' experience in an IT support or systems administration role
* Strong troubleshooting and problem‐solving skills
* Ability to operate independently and manage tasks end‐to‐end
* Experience supporting Windows environments and Microsoft 365
* Intermediate level Windows systems administration experience
* Good communication skills and the ability to support non‐technical users
Desirable Experience
The following experience would be highly regarded:
* Experience supporting small business IT environments where multiple responsibilities are required
* Familiarity with IT/OT network troubleshooting
* Basic experience with Python or PowerShell, with an interest in developing automation skills
* Experience with cybersecurity practices in a small business environment
* Vendor certifications, TAFE or university qualifications in IT or related fields
