Mater Dei Primary School in Lake Albert, Wagga Wagga is seeking a full‑time Religious Education Coordinator to join their team commencing January 2026.

Your New Role

The position of the Religious Education Coordinator (REC) is a senior leadership role that exists to support the Principal in implementing the mission and vision of the school, to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students. The REC has the delegated responsibility for the leadership, coordination and supervision of learning and teaching in Religious Education. In sharing the leadership of Catholic Life, Education and Mission, the REC is required to have a well‑developed capacity to take forward the evangelising mission of Catholic schools within the Diocese of Wagga Wagga.

- Salary determined by NESA Accreditation and Teaching Service + Coordinator 2 Allowance ($19,552 per annum)

Note: Co‑ordinator appointments are 5‑year full‑time contracts with the option of an additional 5 years subject to ongoing successful performance reviews.

- Postgraduate academic qualifications in addition to initial teacher training
- As an employee with CEDWW it is expected that in this role you will lead and promote the mission and vision of Catholic Education
- Demonstrates a sound understanding of and commitment to Catholic Education and regularly participates in the sacramental life of the Church
- Successful candidate to undertake National Criminal History Check
- Three (3) referees, one of which must be your current employer and your current Parish Priest; CEDWW will conduct the reference check with the referees prior to shortlisting

Skills and Experience

- Recent school or system leadership experience
- Highly developed communication skills in a range of forums and media
- Knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning pedagogies, curriculum and practice
- Ability to think critically, strategically and operationally, implementing a structured cycle of improvement initiatives, reflecting on and adapting processes as required to meet successful outcomes
- A high level of relational skills evidenced in a range of circumstances
- Ability to understand, interpret and analyse data relevant to scope of practice and position
- Experience in management of budgets, understanding of relevant policy, administration procedure and other areas of governance as appropriate to the scope and intent of the role

The student population is 319 and is double‑stream from Kindergarten to Year 6.
