The Role
If you are a commercially driven leader with a background in mining, quarrying, & construction, this is your opportunity to combine hands-on operational leadership with strategic business development.
This role predominantly blends growth strategy with execution, focusing on identifying new opportunities (Business Development) and ensuring efficient internal processes (Operations) to achieve them. You will have the required skills in strategic planning, stakeholder management, contract negotiation, and operational leadership to expand client bases and streamline service delivery, often for new markets, or partnerships.
You will lead our West Australian operations and performance, including people leadership, safety compliance, profit and loss accountability and assist the Managing Director to drive growth across Western Australia's mining and quarry industry & construction. Your primary focus will be to oversee the Operations Management for crushing and screening services on either contract, wet and dry hire.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
* Oversee day-to-day business operations and optimise business processes for our operations, including repairs and maintenance of crushing, screening and mobile plant equipment
* Manage scheduling, inventory, and resources to optimise efficiency and profitability
* Ensure alignment between development strategies and operational execution
* Manage, lead and mentor staff, fostering a positive culture ensuring compliance to the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality System, and drive productivity
* Assist the Managing Director with reviewing profit and loss, cost control, and performance reporting
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in business development within mining, quarrying, or heavy industry and establishing growth strategies with execution, focusing on identifying new opportunities (Business Development) and ensuring efficient internal processes (Operations) to achieve them
* Researching trends within the industry, developing plans, & seizing opportunities
* Building and nurturing relationships both new and existing with clients, partners and internal teams
* Reviewing contracts and agreements with the leadership team
* Quarry Manager, mechanical or industry background along with a solid understanding of the operation and maintenance of Crushing and Screening equipment will be highly desirable
* Hands-on leadership style with excellent organisational and communication skills
* Well-connected in the West Australian mining and quarrying sectors
* Current driver's licence and ability to travel as required
* Residential in Pilbara or FIFO role considered
