Emergency Medicine Trainee (ACEM Accredited Training Position)
Western Australia | August 2026 Intake
A well-established regional hospital in Western Australia is currently seeking ACEM trainees to join its Emergency Department as part of an ACEM-accredited training program, commencing August 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for doctors who are looking to gain broad emergency medicine exposure while progressing through accredited training in a supportive regional environment.
The Emergency Department is a busy regional service that manages a diverse mix of presentations, including trauma, medical emergencies, paediatrics, and complex acute care cases. As a key referral centre for the surrounding region, the department provides exposure to a wide range of clinical presentations that are often less commonly seen in metropolitan settings. Trainees benefit from close collaboration with experienced FACEM specialists and supportive multidisciplinary teams who are committed to teaching and supervision. The department places a strong emphasis on procedural skills, resuscitation training, and developing clinical decision‐making in high‐acuity environments. In addition, a new ICU unit is currently under development, which will significantly enhance critical care capabilities at the hospital and provide trainees with valuable exposure to critical care pathways and collaborative emergency–ICU management.
The hospital is located 4 hours from Perth, a vibrant coastal city in Western Australia known for its relaxed lifestyle and strong sense of community. The town offers stunning ocean views, beautiful beaches, and a warm climate for much of the year, making it ideal for those who enjoy outdoor living. The city provides a range of amenities including good schools, cafes, restaurants, and sporting facilities while maintaining a welcoming regional atmosphere. It is also a popular destination for water sports such as surfing, sailing, and fishing.
This opportunity would suit ACEM trainees or doctors progressing towards Emergency Medicine training who are looking for strong clinical exposure, supportive supervision, and the chance to be part of a growing regional service.
