Senior Delivery PMO Manager

Clerk Grade 11/12 Salary – $139,787 - $161,663 pa, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
The primary role of the delivery Program Management Office (PMO) is to create and maintain project management governance, standards, review and coordinate budget and schedule inputs, streamline process and promote best practice, ensuring projects and maintenance works are delivered efficiently and in accordance with the approved scope, budget and program with safety and risk management a priority consideration during delivery.
What you’ll do
As part of the Major Program Delivery team, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):
1. Leads the design and implementation of a common project management methodology, standards and tools to drive and facilitate the successful delivery of projects.
2. Coordinates the Program Management Office responsibilities for the I&A Major Program Delivery unit, including governance, reporting and project review framework to provide a holistic oversight of all I&A project activity.
3. Manages interdependencies and coordination across projects to ensure that information relating to project deliverables, risks and issues are effectively communicated between stakeholders and that key performance indicators are monitored and evaluated.
4. Liaises with the Enterprise PMO and other Corporate Services branches and business units to align governance and assurance, project delivery and reporting frameworks with Departmental requirements.
5. Coordinate and oversee all aspects of project planning, scheduling, finance management and reporting, working with Project Managers and Project Support Officers to develop project plans, allocate resources, manage and track project spend and financial performance, risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, project impact and quality measures, to identify and address issues, assess project progress and effectiveness, and achieve project outcomes.
6. Coordinate Gateway Review processes as required for major project delivery.
7. Undertake research and formulate recommendations to support evidence-based project planning and decision making.
8. Provide advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and to support project development and delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other project and priorities.
9. Coordinate and deliver briefing notes and regular reporting to the DCJ Board, Board Sub-Committees and Ministers, including Budget Estimates Briefings and Annual Reporting requirements.
What we’re looking for
We are seeking an experienced Senior PMO Manager to lead the Delivery of PMO.
To be successful in this role, you will display the following:
10. experience in Program or Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Building or a related discipline, including eligibility for registration as a member of the respective professional association
11. you will be required to have highly effective communication and negotiation skills and be able to build and maintain client and stakeholder relationships
12. awareness of industry recognised project management terminology and best practice (such as PMBOK or similar) and its practical application across projects
13. Excellent leadership skills and high level of expertise in strategic delivery and innovative project management.
