Senior payroll operations specialist

About This Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity, created to support a key payroll project implementation.

As a Senior Payroll Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of this initiative while also contributing to ongoing payroll operations as needed.

* You will be part of a collaborative and experienced payroll team of seven.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and experience coordinating payroll projects and system implementations.

Familiarity with ADP GlobalView, SuccessFactors, UKG Dimensions, and/or Dayforce Preceda is highly desirable.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.


Responsibilities

* Coordinate payroll-related project activities and system implementations.
* Support the successful delivery of payroll transformation initiatives by translating business needs into system and process requirements.
* Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Australian legislation.
* Respond to internal and external payroll queries in a professional and timely manner, maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support effective payroll operations.
* Assist with internal and external audit requirements by providing accurate and timely payroll data and documentation.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing payroll systems, processes, and compliance.
* Support the team with monthly and weekly payroll processing as needed, ensuring seamless service delivery.
* Participate actively in team meetings and knowledge-sharing activities to foster collaboration and alignment.


Requirements

* 5-10 years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
* Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation.
* Experience coordinating payroll projects and system implementations.
* Familiarity with ADP GlobalView, SuccessFactors, UKG Dimensions, and/or Dayforce Preceda.
* Skilled in translating complex payroll processes into clear system requirements.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.
* High attention to detail, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills; adaptable to change.
