The Role
The ACTSS Management Unit is seeking an experienced commercial practitioner to fill the critical role of Commercial Manager. This person would lead a dedicated and dynamic commercial team supporting a wide range of contracting and procurement activities enabling a diverse suite of capabilities and systems for Army Aviation. The Commercial Manager will provide guidance to contract managers and purchasing officers, plan strategies and deal with complex arrangements, provide advice and support to program executives, and act as a delegate for appropriate procurement activities.
In addition to enabling the outcomes of the Management Unit, this person will provide mentoring to commercial, contracting and procurement staff, contribute to commercial community of practice forums and will support the workforce, organisational and cultural development of the Management Unit.
The successful candidate for this role will be required to 'work on-site'.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. The Aviation C4ISREW (Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare), Training and Support Systems Management Unit (ACTSS MU) is a specialist team within the Utility Helicopter Systems Program Office (UHSPO).
The ACTSS MU team is responsible for the management, delivery and sustainment of a range of cross-platform, cross-functional and common aviation systems supporting the aviation capability as a whole. The ACTSS MU team is located in South East Queensland, with offices at Victoria Barracks Brisbane and Swartz Barracks, Oakey.
